What I *really* want is a Montessori school, but the $$$ are so insane, I can't fathom. I feel so sure that there's an affordable option in the City, I just haven't been able to hunt it down (we've been here two months). If you have any leads on that note, I need anything I can get, at this point.Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15778066191562729245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123503078261785475.post-86852330998540557372013-09-09T00:10:08.096-07:002013-09-09T00:10:08.096-07:00We were too late to check out another coop, but ho...We were too late to check out another coop, but honestly, I think the low ratio of actual teacher to student makes it a pretty unlikely thing for us. I'm signed up for next year's tours to see if the others seem like a better place. I have a friend who's son is at the same coop we left and he is having the same issues TT was.

We ended up finding a spot at a lovely little playbased school in our neighborhood that is not perfect schedule wise (two full days - I wanted three half days), but has a 3-1 ratio, very kind kids and teachers, and is lovely. Not perfect, but lovely. I've sat through two whole days there and have been very very happy (and so has T).

It is more than double what the coop was going to cost us for 5 days. But I realize now I'm paying for low ratios and educated teachers (parents are lovely, but they aren't professionals). We had to move money around in our budget for it and we're living pretty tightly at this point, but it was well worth it.

GiGihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07865600396367861982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6123503078261785475.post-70232234429895086002013-09-08T18:36:21.090-07:002013-09-08T18:36:21.090-07:00Love this. Did you ever find a co-op you love?Rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15778066191562729245noreply@blogger.com
